Felix Jaehn – EDM’s New Sweetheart

by Marina Pedrosa 2 years ago

Summer ‘16 is looking good for Felix Jaehn. The young DJ appears to be on a constant rise after what seems to be the longest 15 minutes of fame ever. After topping the charts in over 50 countries in 2015 with his remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader”, the German DJ continues to impress the EDM industry with his distinctive sounds and melody-rich approach to house music.

While only 21 years old, Jaehn has already achieved international recognition for his commercially appealing productions and doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. Shortly after the massive success of his “Cheerleader” remix, the producer scored another place on the top with his breakout single “Aint Nobody” with Jasmine Thompson. Building an impressive catalogue of hits, Jaehn seems to be maturing in his artistry as he unapologetically explores different styles and genres, and continually succeeds in all of them. After many other notable releases such as “Book of Love”, the remix of “Fantasy” by Alina Baraz & Galimatias and “Can’t Go Home” with Steve Aoki & Adam Lambert, Jaehn now gifts us with “Bonfire”, featuring Finnish singer/songwriter ALMA.

The new single not only defines Jaehn’s individuality but also proves his versatility and the reason why he has a packed international touring schedule for the summer. With kinetic chord patterns and melodic vocal cuts, “Bonfire” has commanding lyrics that reveal a power narrative that the Finnish up-and-coming singer is only beginning to tell. A powerful duo, Jaehn and ALMA fill the dirty basslines with magnetic lyrics and highly developed percussion, pouring charisma out of the speakers.

A new key component in the EDM scene, Feliz Jaehn has played major festivals and will continue to thrive with around the world performances this summer, and most likely, many more chart-topping hits.
